I believe that this exhibit used to house Mexican Grey Wolves, and how many zoos in America even have dholes? Does the San Diego Zoo Safari Park still have them off-exhibit somewhere? How about The Wilds in Ohio? I've seen them at Toronto Zoo but overall dholes are an incredibly rare species to locate anywhere on this side of the Atlantic.

Minnesota and the 3 other facilities seem to be the only North American institutions that have Dholes.
Minnesota had two litters of Dhole pups in addition to the 3 adults they originally had in 2012. Did they keep those pups? It would have been a great oppurtunity to distribute them in other AZA zoos.

The San Diego pack has never been on exhibit in the 15+ years that they have been there. There was talk many years ago of converting the old lion exhibit, but those plans never materialized. Maybe they will finally show up in a future Asia exhibit now that the tiger complex is open.

At the beginning of summer we counted four on exhibit. After speaking with a keeper, we were told they had six. The others were distributed elsewhere from what we were told.
