As with the other photograph I just commented on, this is not actually a European Hedghog - it is a Northern White-breasted Hedgehog (Erinaceus roumanicus)
It's a nice species either way numbers of Erinaceus europaeus have dropped drastically in my area in the past 10 years or so, and I believe Erinaceus roumanicus is in a similar state across its range.
