Pretty sure; I suspect the ZTL entry (as with many on that website) is merely defaulting to non-subspecific status in the absence of any particular proof of origin rather than suggesting it comes from hybrid stock, and the individuals at Walsrode not only have noticeably shorter and more robust beaks than the proven macrorhynchos which I have seen, but moreover look pretty much identical to the proven caryocatactes at Alpenzoo Innsbruck (which are derived from wild-caught individuals from the area, I believe).
 
@TeaLovingDave Ah okay! Thank you so much for the explanation! And it makes sense, many of their other european/eurasian species are the native subspecies. Thanks again!
