Oceans - Walrus/California Sea Lion Exhibit

July 9th, 2012.
Only 1 female Walrus, Aurora I believe, remains, correct? Are there any plans to replace her when she passes away? I consider that this will be hard, due to the low number of walruses in American zoos and aquariums?

I suspect that walruses will soon fade away from North American collections unless some wild-caught animals are introduced. There was a single sea lion in with the walrus, but I think that only two zoos (Indy and Point Defiance) still have the species.

I guess I'll have to head to Brooklyn soon before they die too. It's a shame they're hard to breed in captivity, and the mortality rate is quite high for youngsters.
