ARIZONA - It was only recently confirmed that they existed in the state at all. No one really knows as there have only been a couple sightings.
TEXAS - It is my understanding that the population has been holding steady at a low number for many years. Really no where for them to expand to, so I think it will stay that way at least for the immediate future.
There is one that is being sighted by camera traps for over a year now in the Santa Rita Mountains. That is a mountain range that borders the south side of the greater Tucson valley where I live.
