At the moment there is nothing scheduled to happen to the numerous grottoes in the Northern Trek section of the zoo, and a couple of years ago there were 6 species of bear plus tigers in enclosures that all resemble the one in this photo. Detroit Zoo spent around one million dollars and filled in the moat and built a long line of viewing windows for its 1928 lion grotto and it will be intriguing to see whether Cleveland does the same with its tigers or various bear species.
