I am posting this photo not to demise the Milwaukee County Zoo but as an experiment for my psychology class, as for the past month, we have been discussing ways on how people can see a photo and experience great emotions from it, even if the photo negatively displays a dismissive situation without giving reason, such as this photo. In other words we are talking about propaganda created from photography. So, even though this isn't exactly a place for such photos or discussion, but I was wondering if maybe some of you could share with me what your first thoughts on this photo were.

This makes me sad. She just looks sad. I'm so happy that the elephant exhibit at the Milwaukee County Zoo is being renovated soon!!! :D

They've been saying that for a while now though.

Yeah, that;s true, they have. Fingers crossed that something actually happens though. I know they wanted to do that big hippo expansion a few years back but they never did that either.

@Wild Man and Wild wolverine: I agree; it does sometimes feel like Milwaukee is more talk, and not a lot of action when it comes to their future. However, the Zoo has slowly been starting come out of its shell in terms of improvement, and the proposed (but very vague) projects for the next ten years (hippos, African complex, sea lions) are good signs. However, it's going to take some real money and some real commitment if they wish to accomplish this.

@Moebelle: This is a great photo in that it really catches the "depressing mood." The close cropping and lighting definitely help set the tone. Hope this helps for your class! :)
