The outdoor enclosure for African lions in Odense Zoo, Denmark. A very high quality habitat portraying an African swamp-area. It is large and lush, has plenty of spaces for resting and many viewing points for the visitors. It opened in 1996.

I know a few years ago lions were culled at this zoo. How prevalent is culling in European zoos? It is nonexistent in the United States

@GraysonDP I don't think that's true.
Just pulling a quote from a recently discussed article:

"At the time of Marius’s death, David Powell, the mammalogist, was researching the use of euthanasia in breeding programs in American zoos. He asked thirty-three zoos about their culling practices (promising not to name them). In a co-written paper, he reported that forty-five per cent of the zoos had said they were euthanizing healthy animals; in this cohort, seventy-nine per cent were culling mammals."
