This label on the Spotted Hyena exhibit caught my attention as it featured a photo that I recognised from a series of animal books that I owned as a child (and later managed to buy all volumes that ever came out in mint condition, which I treasure).
This ambitious book series was made by artists and zoologists from Italy and other European countries in the 1980s under the Italian name of "Grande Enciclopedia Illustrata degli Animali". Even if almost all contributors were European, I will assume that the series was also published in the USA; at least that seems to be how OKZ found this illustration.
