Old pictures from Kolmården Zoo - 1969

I have found a few more old zoo photographs from my childhood in another photo album (see earlier uploads in the Borås and Kolmården galleries). The pictures in this album were dated so I know when they were taken.

Here is a series of pictures from Kolmården Zoo, taken in 1969.

That sure is a nice, large field for a 1960's era exhibit. Looks like Born also had some nice exhibits. Maybe Sweden was ahead of everyone else in this regard?

My point, precisely. Although please note that I have no nationalist agenda whatsoever when I push this issue here at ZooChat. I am very critical towards my own country in several aspects - though legislation on animal welfare in zoos is not one of them....

This picture shows a rhino on the 18 000 sq meter African savanna at Kolmården, opened in 1965. 18 000 sq meters equal appr 4,5 acres.
