A little trip down memory lane. This old raccoon cage was still present as a piece of history in 2009 - I didn't see it anymore during my recent visits and it may have since dissapeared. Although some of the exhibits in the present-day Olmense Zoo are ugly and substandard, historical images and relicts like this prove the Olmense Zoo as it was until the late 1990's - early 2000's was a real poster child for anti-zoo people's criticisms and claims. A lot of progress has been made at the Olmense Zoo, but a lot of work remains.
