open top turtle exhibit

Christmas Day, 2012. Amazon turtle exhibit inside the newly opened (fourth) aquarium building. You see it from this side as you walk in and then from other side as you walk around. Off to the right is the large tank for giant fish (arapaima, etc). Directly behind me is the small clawed otter exhibit, which you also can see from the other side of this turtle tank by looking over it.

YES. (Although what you call arrau they label giant amazon - but your inclusion of the latin names helped me clarify that is what they are).

very nice. I love podocs. it has many names and is also called giant amazon turtle. that's why latin names help with reptiles and other species. animals may be known as other names, but the latin always distinguishes an animal for what it is. just like people call Leopardus guigna, the Kodkod, but it is known as Guiña. :)
