A pair of male Pileated Gibbons has recently been mixed with the Orang Utan colony. There are also three Asian Small Clawed Otters in the same island enclosure.
How are the gibbons exhibited in the exhibit without escaping? Singapore's orang exhibit has a lovely ropeway leading to balconies by the boardwalk. What keeps the gibbons from leaping out and onto the visitor path and escaping? I'd love to see more orang mixed species exhibits, but siamangs and gibbons often aren't exhibited with orangs on their islands due to their leaping abilities.
@BenFoxster there are 2 separate parts to the Orang Utan exhibit - a conventional island habitat with a wide water moat and a "free-ranging" area comprising vines stringed along live trees with hot-wire on the trunks. The Gibbons can only access the island and in general they seem very averse to water and will not attempt to leap across water moats.
