This Orangutan was alone in the old outdoor enclosure.

That'll be Sibu.

How did you manage to get a shot of him on the ground? I've only been able to see him when he's on the climbing frame.

I only knew about the old orang house from what i read on here so as i came out of Realm of the Red Ape my curiousity got the better of me and i wanted to see what the old area looked like.As i peered over the fence i expected an empty enclosure but to my surprise there he was.

Do you know why Sibu was in there alone CZJimmy?

Solari, Sibu is only back at Chester temporarily until a suitable mate is found and that pair will then be sent to another collection and the 2nd phase of realm of the red ape will be started (to replace the old house)

Thanks for that info CZJimmy,i never knew there was another phase of Realm of the Red Ape to come.Its already an impressive exhibit cant wait to see the 2nd phase.
