August 2008. The green section of the zoo at the top is the Great Northwest, which is the newest and by far the best set of habitats at the zoo. All of that area has been built over the past decade. This map shows where 2009's Predators of the Serengeti will be, which is the old Alaskan Tundra location towards the bottom of the map.
