Oregon Zoo - Polar Bear Exhibit

August 2008. This enclosure has long viewing windows and a deep pool, but the land area is deplorable and reaches 100 degrees in the summer. Due to be renovated in the next few years.

What do people think about the black vertical supports holding up the acrylic? Does it detract at all from the exhibit? Because it has allowed the zoo to use standard size acrylic panels, which is a significant saving.

While having a single large sheet of acrylic is impressive if you can afford it, this is also a perfectly acceptable option in my opinion. To be honest, having seen this exhibit, I didn't even notice it until it was pointed out on this thread.
