Old Moon Bear Exhibit

Definitely an ancient relic that should have been demolished by now.

Nice photo of this "piece of zoo history", accualy a home for a pair of polar bears for over 30 years. But its end is quite near, construction works for a new exhibit (1,4ha = 3acres) for moon bears has just started. This grotto will be demolished and new pools for pinguins and seals are planned to be built there instead.

Thanks @Jana; indeed, a closeby exhibit for both Moon Bears and Tarai Gray Langurs is currently in the process of being built.

I'm going to write a little bit about my recent visit of this zoo in the Czech Republic part of the forum.

@snowleopard, if You would visit the zoo nowadays ... You would have noticed how this zoo has changed enormously in the last 2 decades and most of the old zoo architecture has changed. Either demolished or renovated to the extent ... You would be hard pressed to recognise the old in the new....!
