The attack was fast, and while the mother was furious, she couls do nothing as the otter made its way up to the bank slowly with its new meal. Unfortunately the duckling was alive for a long time in its jaws. 10th April 2010.

Thanks, for all the upset children it was great to see nature in action. I was looking through my photos again and then noticed that the otter actually took two ducklings, something I didn't actually see while it was happening, as this picture shows:
