In 1987 the great apes had been moved to the new ape building, but LPZ did keep them here before. The ape house was inaugurated in 1976.The current primate house is much better, but only the gibbons have an outdoor space as do the chimps and gorillas at the great ape house. I remember that this particular building with a great collection, but it was rather depressing to see the primates in such small cages.
