@DelacoursLangur Some non-AZA zoos have obtained them over the last couple of years. I did see Aardwolves at ZooWorld in Panama City, Florida a few months ago.
@DelacoursLangur Dragonstone Ranch in Texas is an exotic animal breeder and has Aardwolves so I would say they are. They have a bunch of other rarities rarely or not found in US zoos and offer visits via guided tours but those are extremely expensive.
