The zoo design is interesting because in some ways the brick recalls the former zoo on that site, also, although set in the large Central Park, the horizon is all tall city buildings, so a strong architectural component in the zoo connects the park to the city vista.
Thank you for your reply. The design is interesting it also serves a a visual emphasis of the barrier between the enclosure and the visitors extending above the glass fence line giving the visitors a sense of security, whilst not obstructing the view over the enclosure for the visitors.
