Correct. Elephants haven't been at the zoo in nearly a decade at this point, and the plan to renovate the pachyderm house was scrapped not too long after. Elephants are still slated to make their return to Brookfield eventually, but it will be a brand new exhibit and not in the pachyderm house.
@Matt G Sorry for being like 5 years late for your question, but if I recall correctly, the lower levels of the building would've required a ton of work in order to support a modern barn. So they scrapped it
@toxodon That's alright man, nothing to be worried about. At least I'm happy Brookfield now is looking forward to bring back elephants again in the forthcoming future ahead with Gateway to Africa.
