Pacific Blue-tailed Skink (Emoia caeruleocauda)

Matantas, August 2023 - there are several very similar blue-tailed skinks in the Pacific, which are all also really variable in colour. This species can be identified by the distinctive Y shape the stripes form at the base of the tail (compare to the photo of Emoia impar).
Thank you for posting these photos! It's great to see pictures of wildlife from places like Vanuatu that most of us will never visit. Also, I'm happy to see the lizard fauna in the spot light!
