This was the pachyderm house,called the"Elefanten Pagode", opened in 1872, destroyed in 1945. In the thirties, the house get free sight enclosures and the fenches dissappeared. The hippos get in 1888 an own building, after a keeper was killed by a hippo in the elephant house, which was beautyful for the vistors, but it was full of mistakes.
