A very weird exhibit and a pretty bad one too.
Just to explain the binturong exhibit at BestZoo a little, because it is such a weird exhibit.

All there is to this exhibit is the wooden 'closet' serving as indoor housing, a couple of poles leading towards the birch trees (above visitors' heads) and the canopy of the birch trees. The trees have some metal frames with hotwiring on them to keep the binturongs from climbing down and mingling with zoo guests (although if one were to fall or slip, I think it could possible get into the visitors area).

I really don't like this exhibit as the space is so limited. The 'closet' looks incredibly small for large animals like binturongs (two of them), especially when they are cooped up in there during the fall and winter months or during bad weather. On the poles and in the trees the space and opportunities are also very limited for these animals to pass each other, to truly avoid each other or to hide or find shelter.

I appreciate that arboreal animals get real life trees rather than just branches and trunks, but if that is really all there is, it just doesn't cut it. This is a very poor exhibit and probably the worst I've seen for binturongs, even counting a small former monkey island with a really crappy indoor exhibit, not dissimilar to the closet here, at Duisburg and a fairly small cage at Antwerp than held binturongs years ago. These animals in my opinion deserve at least a decent-sized exhibit with ground access and trees and a small barn.

Snowleopard also commented on this exhibit in the comments underneath the post linked below and some of the comments I made above are based on his as well as on what I saw and photographed at Best myself.
