Explanation
Pe Pe and Ying Ying are the founder animals that came from China. They had seven offspring at Chapultepec, of which 4 lived and 3 died. Of them, only Tohui mated, with Chia - Chia loaned from London zoo. Today Xin Xin, their offspring, along with Shuan shuan and Xin Hua are the only pandas not owned by China, since Bao bao in berlin has died.
Xiu Hua, the oldest panda at chapultepec died zoo on the 27th of august, 2013. She was born at chapultepec zoo. This leaves Xin Xin and Shuan Shuan as the only giant pandas not owned by the chinese government. Xiu Hua was a few weeks away from reaching 28 years.
