Panda Passage Giant Panda Indoor Exhibit #1

A giant panda (Ailropoda melanoleuca) is relaxing here in the first indoor exhibit at Panda Passage. This is an extensively remodeled pachyderm house that was originally built for Asian elephants. This view is from across a dry moat with a natural stone retaining wall.
It is a very light, open indoor space! They installed new skylights over this exhibit to let in more natural light. The more natural features and plants are definitely a huge upgrade over the stark pachyderm exhibit here before.
