A former chimpanzee cage that has been repurposed to house Pantanal cats, of which you can see one near to the right corner. Picture taken on 12/02/2025.
I would prefer a glass fronted exhibit, perhaps with some tarpaulin for privacy of the small felids. Pantanal cats ..., a new thing ... bc I never heard before .... Amazing how diversity of the South American small felid family is!

@Kifaru Bwana The glass front would indeed be better fow viewing these (quite) recluse little fellas. As I've stated on the subtitles of this post, this exhibit used to held the zoo's chimpanzees quite a long time ago, hence why the metal bars, but the cats seem to really enjoy it, since with the mesh it gives them quite some privacy, alongside all the vegetation and hiding spots.

The Pantanal cat (Leopardus braccatus) used to be a part of the Colocolo species (Leopardus colocolo), alongside some other small felids from South America, but recently they have been split up into different species and subspecies, due to being quite different both phisically and genetically.
