When did you go, cause if you went during the spring and summer that's when they are less active. During the winter they are amazing to see because they are very active.

Fantastic photo! One of the best snow leopard shots I've seen (works well in black & white). I agree exhibit is only so-so. In fact, snow leopards seem to have gotten the short end of the stick compared to other big cats - I have not found any good snow leopard exhibits. They say Bronx Zoo is best, but even it is not outstanding in my opinion. Maybe the new one they're building at Central Park Zoo will be nice? Considering they probably range farther in the wild than any other big cat, they deserve bigger zoo exhibits.

The Bronx Himalayan Highlands is definitely outstanding, and I know a few other zoo-chatters who would agree with that.
I really like LA Zoo's snow leopard exhibit. I saw it in November and there were two cubs and a mother out. The cubs were running all over the exhibit and jumping on all the rocks and rolling pumpkins around. It was so fun to watch

I miss the cubs, as they added life to the exhibit. Right now the leopards are very active as the weather has been really cold here in LA.
