Thanks for these photos; they're reminding me how much I love Antwerp. Do you have any of the new gorilla enclosure? And are there plans for the chimps?
@Giant Panda I do have pictures of the new gorilla exhibit somewhere, do you want me to dig some up and post them at this point?
I do plan to eventually post more exhibits photos in the future (as in, a pretty complete overview with historical notes) but that is a long-term project that might take months if not up to a year or more to complete and which is only on a slow burn right now.
As far as the chimps go... the most recent I have read is that the current chimpansee group at Antwerp, which is a mixed subspecies group of mostly older and middle-age animals, is planned to be phased out naturally and eventually replaced by a bachelor group of gorillas.
