Parque Zoologico Huachipa 2012

Rio Mayo titis (Callicebus oenanthe)

A very nice surprise I was not expecting. Also did not have a identification sign.

How many Callicebus species did they have?... I am visiting in May and I dont want to miss any as I am starting to develop some sort favouritism with this genus.

Callicebus is a favorite genus of mine as well! I believe oenanthe, and the other unidentified one I have photos of (probably a hybrid) are the only 2 Callicebus Huachipa has. Brazil zoos were good for Callicebus diversity- I was able to see brunneus, discolor, moloch, nigrifons, and vieirai!

If you were able to see the Callicebus in Cali you would be able to place Callicebus ornatus in your list!

Not sure they had those when I was at Cali in early 2012- I didn't see them on exhibit and the employee showing me off exhibit species didn't mention them :(

Maybe at that time they were off exhibit, but they were right behind the building with the yellow tailed woolly monkey... new reason to come back!!
