Giant Eland, are you on a grand tour of the coolest zoos in South America to see the rarest critters? Are you getting to see any of these species in the wild also?
Haha it would seem that way DavidBrown. Back in February I went to the Galapagos Islands, and I spent 4 days at the end of the trip going to 4 very special zoos: Huachipa, Cali, Parque Jaime Duque, and of course Los Ocarros, home of the Giant Armadillo. It's only now that I"m getting the photos online.
I purposely chose each of these places (with the help of ISIS and Zoochat) because they had the greatest number of South American mammal species that I'd never photographed before. I hope to visit Argentina and Brazil in the near future to knock off some great collections there (then I'd pretty much have the whole continent covered)
The only animals I saw in the wild were in the Galapagos. Although I hope to do a safari trip to the Pantanal region of Brazil.
And I was told these were the only Marine Otters in captivity.
