this enclosure was adequate, the pool was a bit small in my opinion. Its a shame that one of Europe's Greatest Aquariums does not have a wonderful penguin habitat. It houses a group of Black Footed Penguin and i believe they have bred.
From the other pics i have seen, i agree it isn´t small, but the pool is indeed small. And i wouldn´t rate this sea life centre as one of europe greatest aquariums.
The whole ethos behind the aquarium is the link between man and see, which means there is a lot of wasted space, with things such a projectors & screens with little educational or interactive value at all! The sealion habitat is VERY good. There is far to much wasted space on private restaurants etc, I think this couild be europes best, but in highnsight, it is not. The penguins are actually not part of the main aquarium complex and are part of a separate exhibit about icy oceans, before you enter a 3D theater with a story about a lost island (although, that part has probably changed now!)
Have you visited any other aquarium in europe outside the UK? I´ve visited Lisbon and Valencia, probably the two best in Europe. And from this pics and some info i have, Nausicaa isn´t a great contester. I haven´t visited it yet, but there´s nothing that really makes me want to go there.
I'm afraid not but I do wish to visit valencia! I have heard only positives about them though, and I also believe than genoa in italy has a good one? Thanks for the info though, but have you been to a uk aquarium? Compared to them, this is world class..
Valencia is good, but i prefer Lisbon. And i believe many people agree with me. I have also heard that Genoa is good, but there isn´t much info around here about it. I started a thread about aquariums in the UK, and yes, i have to agree this is better than all those sea life centres you have there. If you use the same logic, Georgia aquarium in Atlanta is the best aquarium in the usa. Pardon if I'm wrong, but the reason for your statement was that it has the biggest tank in Europe.
