Perenties are such large lizards and yet there are a lot of Australian zoos that have exhibits for the species that feature an open-topped enclosure. I particularly like the reddish glow of this exhibit but I was a bit surprised to see the closed-in cage for perenties in the Caversham Wildlife Park gallery.

The Caversham Wildlife Park one seemed particularly small, however in Perth with the colder winter temperatures that regularly approach zero, an indoor heated area is needed for Perenties. The Perth Zoo one has indoor and outdoor enclosures which seems to be the better approach rather than an all-enclosed enclosure at Caversham.
