@Great Argus Two have died since this photo was taken - Hsing Hsing in 2017 (aged 42) and Puan in 2018 (aged 65); and one has been exported - Negara in 2016.

They’re well overdue to breed again, considering they’ve had three deaths and three exports since the last birth in 2012.
@Lankey Kong No, I don’t believe so. Media releases state Temara was tracked for three years (until 2009); and there have never been any further updates on this female, who at nearly 28 years of age, surely should have bred by now. Upon Nyaru’s release, they said he’d be tracked for two years (until 2018). It’ll be interesting to see if Sungai follows suit.
@Lankey Kong There seems to have been very little activity within the Australasian Sumatran orangutan breeding programme as of late. Sungai (2011) and Lestari (2012) were the last two surviving infants; and Auckland Zoo has even gone back on it's decision to import Sumatran orangutan in favour of continuing with Bornean orangutan. Orana Widlife Park (with an empty orangutan exhibit) and Melbourne Zoo (who have reduced their colony to a single male) are also at a crossroads, where they could go either way. Interesting times ahead!
@Zoofan15 I've counted 31 pregnancies at the Zoo since 1970 including stillborns, infants passing away and the hybrids born and the inbred too (poor Utama, glad she had a nice bond with Hsing Hsing), for some reason I came up with 32 at first. Really glad to know Temara one of the babies I remember is having a wild Sumatran life now thats really cool; poor Semeru with the viper bite death in his wild nest.
