Pesquet's Parrot

Pesquet's Parrot at the San Diego Zoo 11/12/08.

San Diego uses this type of very narrow mesh on most of their bird exhibits. While it serves the purpose of excluding sparrows from getting into the cages, it is distractlngly ugly--very hard to view or photograph through. One more reason I think San Diego is vastly overrated--marvelous collection but little concern for the visitor experience

I agree about the mesh, but what else could be used?

They could put a portion with glass, and in the back they could use that mesh. At least it will let people take pics of the animals inside it.

That's a great idea. I know they've done that with some exhibits.
