Pier 4 Pavilion: Dolphin Pool

August 1st, 2010.
Now that the aquarium has declared its intention to send 8 dolphins to a "seaside sanctuary" by 2020 there is the question as to what will become of this exhibit. Obviously some kind of large pinniped complex is the obvious answer, but does anyone else have possible other suggestions? If the water was drained and the concrete was flattened then an entire ecosystem could be displayed to the public. Perhaps an Amazon gallery or something similar could be built in the space provided via the absence of the dolphins.
