If Baltimore, arguably one of America's top 5 aquariums, decides to phase out dolphins then that could have enormous ramifications on many other facilities around the continent. Shifting 8 dolphins to a sanctuary is major news for such a notable establishment, and there would then be a large pool to fill with a new species. It will be extremely interesting to see what happens with this idea as I firmly believe that if Baltimore does decide to send its dolphins away then that could possibly have a ripple effect on other facilities.

According to the latest master plan of the National Aquarium, they said once they will send their dolphins to the first sanctuary for them in 2021, they will transform Pier 4 into a Chesapeake Bay exhibit, which will replace the current dolphin and jellyfish exhibits.
