This is Ivy born 29th June 1989 at Twycross Zoo. Ivy has had three mates being successful with just one, Chamoa who is her current mate. I don't know when Ivy arrived but Blackpool have only ever had two females at once which is currently since the 6th May 2010 when Ivy had a female baby Hollie. Hollie was the first ever gibbon born at Blackpool.
Seronimo the male on the island was Ivy's original mate but Seronimo is a very nervous gibbon and his other mate (Not a she, another male!) drowned on the island exhibit. Seronimo has been alone ever since, the zoo hope when Hollie is mature enough she can become a potiental mate for Seronimo and create a second breeding pair for Blackpool. Am I right in saying Twycross have the best breeding record for the Pileated's?
