Pileated gibbon infant suckling

Infant born prematurely on 19th September, but apparently doing well. Gibbon House (beside children's railway), Paignton, 21st October 2016

I had hoped to see the gibbons on their island, but they were confined to their house. I managed to grab this shot through the glass while the children's train was going round the lake. Compare this image with Gigit's photo of the gibbon family in this Gallery from a month ago :)
 
@gentle lemur When I saw Gigit's photos I was amazed how tiny and hairless the infant looked. The zoo said the baby was premature and I think maybe that was correct. It has certainly grown and furred up in this shot. Pileated is my favourite Gibbon species also.
