They look visually similar to M. berndti, which the easiest thing to look at to distinguish the two is to look at their lower jaw.
M. murdjan have a their lower jaw project equal to the upper jaw (Compared to M. berndti which are slightly longer), though a more reliable distinguishment is that this species have a deep red dorsal fin (According to Reef Life Survey). Jakarta Aquarium have both M. murdjan and M. berndti.
