It's pale enough that I think it's a Piping Plover. Also, the forehead looks pale, but this is a bad head angle because we can't see the forehead and whether or not there is a single black band over a white band (Piping) or a white band sandwiched between to black ones (Semipalmated). Several AZA facilities have been involved with Piping Plover rescues of eggs, and I think that the New England Aquarium is one of those.
I looked at Zootierliste this morning and the New England Aquarium is shown as holding Semipalmated Plovers! So this might not be a Piping Plover afterall. Both species have yellow legs, so without a face shot, we can only go on back and wing color to identify this plover. Its back and head still seem too pale to me for a Semipalmated Plover, but I can't be sure. Thanks for posting.
I actually had doubts and posted the picture because I was looking at zootierliste and saw what it listed. However looking at my own pictures, the sign on the exhibit listed piping plover, not semipalmated, and that's probably more reliable than zootierliste. If your instinct is that it's a piping plover as well then I think I'll go with that.
