The plans for the new elephant exhibit currently being constructed in the Asia Area in Planckendael. The exhibit includes a house as well as an outdoor paddock with space for a breeding group of elephants and dybowski's deer. The elephant exhibit will open in 2012.
The Asia theme in Planckendael is the newest theme currently being developed. The first major part (Gir Forest and Tropical House) was opened in 2006 while the next major part (elephants) will open in 2012.
