A view inside the Tropical House in the Asia Area in Planckendael. The large tropical house features mammals, birds and reptiles from the rainforests of South East Asia. The free ranging species in here are:

- White-rumped shama (Copsychus malabaricus)
- Peking robin (Leiothrix lutea)
- Green-naped pheasant-pigeon (Otidiphaps nobilis nobilis)
- Luzon bleedring-heart dove (Gallicolumba luzonica)
- Emerald dove (Chalcophaps indica)
- Nicobar pigeon (Caloenas nicobarica)
- Pied imperial pigeon (Ducula bicolor)
- White-necklaced partridge (Arborophila gingica)
- Crested wood partridge (Rollulus rouloul)

The Asia theme in Planckendael is the newest theme currently being developed. The first major part (Gir Forest and Tropical House) was opened in 2006 while the next major part (elephants) will open in 2012.
