The indoor exhibit for common wombats (Vombatus ursinus hirsutus) in the Oceania Area in Planckendael. The wombats can sleep in here or in other of their many burrows in the outdoor exhibit. Planckendael is one of only 4 European zoos to keep wombats.
The Oceania theme in Planckendael opened in 1998 and is one of the most extensive in Europe featuring wildlife from Australia and New Guinea.
