It is a very large exhibit, this part being less than half of the outdoor exhibit, although I wouldn't say it was too large! It is clearly the best chimp exhibit in NZ, and I think better than Taronga's, although minus the view, weather and chimp numbers. It wins big time on vegetation, with many plants - none of which are hot-wired. This tall climbing structure allows the chimps to look down on the visitors who are crossing the bridge across the enclosure, but there are also ground level viewings, and plenty of hiding places.
