Polar Bear @ Chester; circa 1987

This is either Amos or Sabrina, who came to Chester from Whipsnade in 1984.
When I\'ve tried to scan this image, it has been coming out a lot darker, so to give the clearest image, I\'ve had to take a photo of a photo!

I thought Sabrina was Pipaluk's partner, and they both went to Eastern Europe when London Zoo took bears off the Mappin Terraces?

‘Sabrina’ was born at Bristol Zoo and was sent to London Zoo, as a mate for ‘Pipaluk’, in 1969.

However, ‘Sabrina’ did not remain in London until the bears were removed from the Mappin Terraces as, in 1980, Whipsnade and London swapped female polar bears, with ‘Sabrina’ going to Whipsnade and ‘Mosha’ going to London.

The two Whipsnade polar bears ‘Amos’ and ‘Sabrina’ were then sent to Chester in 1984.
