Polar Bear Exhibit

In the front is about 2/3 of the main exhibit.
Beyond that is about 1/2 or less of the secondary exhibit.
For perspective, the bear in the back is Humphrey, 14 months, less than 300 pounds, so about 1/4 the size of a full-grown male.
At the right is his aunt, Nikita, about 14 years old, about 700 pounds.
Centre left is Nikita's twin and Humphrey's mother, Aurora, also about 700 pounds.
Aurora has been denning since, I think, early December, but emerged this week of her own accord, and is not pregnant as everyone hoped, according to today's keeper talk.
The keepers do not know yet of any plan to move Humphrey or return his father, Inukshuk.

Great exhibit shot.

I'm glad there wasn't any cubs this year. Aurora deserved a year off. Hopefully they will leave Inukshuk in Cochrane this winter and skip a breeding season. I would guess plans to make the move will need to be done very soon if he is to return since breeding season will soon be upon them. He usually returns sometime in February. Father and son could simply be swapped while they look for a long term home for Humphrey.
