This horrendously outdated grotto will soon be empty as the elderly polar bear in residence is being shipped off to the outstanding North Carolina Zoo. While that female bear will enjoy a fantastic new habitat this current grotto will need to be dramatically modernized if it is to hold anything larger than a coati. A recent news release hinted at the possibility of this exhibit being altered to hold some kind of feline, and that would fit in well with the theme of the area as there are already lions and tigers in nearby enclosures. The tiger exhibit is not very large yet fairly naturalistic but unfortunately the lion grotto is abysmal:
