Ágata passed away in 2023. She was 25 years old and the last polar bear in a Mexican zoo.

Not really, various Mexican zoos have held polar bears reaching old age. Mexico has various cities with high altitude which do not have a tropical climate. With the polar bears becoming much more rarer in zoos in general, it is not likely that any more will go to a Mexican zoo. Ágata s enclosure now holds California sea lions, which are also native to Mexico.
